Arctic Light, Svalbard · 2023 · © Hans Eriksson
Taken at 03:47 on a midsummer morning on the Svalbard plateau, this image captures the moment the midnight sun broke through eight days of cloud cover. The light lasted eleven minutes. I had been waiting four days.

Hans Eriksson works primarily in Arctic and Nordic wilderness, pursuing the light that exists at the edge of human endurance. His practice spans long expeditions — weeks at a time in Svalbard, Greenland, and the Norwegian high plateau — returning with work that carries the silence and scale of those landscapes. He prints exclusively in limited editions on Hahnemühle archival paper.
Images, photographer names, and edition data shown here are placeholders. No real works are registered yet.
The final gallery will show only verified, PAL-certified fine art photography — with real editions, real photographers, and permanent blockchain records.
